Roger Dean Blakely, 93, Of Maywood

MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Roger Dean Blakely, a resident of Maywood, died Saturday, May 21. He was 93.

Born Oct. 29, 1923, in West Springfield, Mass., he was the son of Wilfred Blakely and Madeleine Paine Kelly.

He was a proud World War II U.S. Army veteran, 15th Army, 303rd Ord. MM Company. He also belonged to the Maywood VFW Post #7408.

He was employed by N.J. Bell as a switchman in both the Hillsdale and Rochelle Park offices, where he loved what he did and the people with whom he worked.

He is survived by his wife Ruth; daughter and son-in-law Roberta (Bobbe) and Kenneth Kutcha; and grandchildren, Griffin Dean Kutcha and his wife Courtney and Bradley Hall Kutcha,

He was predeceased by both his parents; and his brother Chester.

Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinka-Faustini Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
