Since 1980, Madame Web has appeared as a supporting character in The Amazing Spider-Man comic, according to Marvel. The mysterious character never saw too much development in the classic realm of Marvel superheroes, but the potential to be incredibly powerful set the stage for an intriguing story to be told. Madame Web, or Cassandra Webb, is a mutant with psychic abilities that she uses to help Spider-Man sense danger and see the potential outcome of his actions. While its original creators Denny O'Neil and John Romita, Jr, wrote Madame Web’s story as a part of the Spider-Man’s comic, Sony has taken it in a slightly different direction.
The upcoming movie is described as a featurette by Marvel and is said to be a standalone narrative, not within any of the Spider-Man movies, but in the multiverse, anything is possible. For now, we patiently await the release date for this new addition to Marvel cinema, and for those of you who are not sure when it’s coming out or even where to see it, allow us to clue you in.
Cassandra Webb is a New York City paramedic who starts to show signs of clairvoyance. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she must protect three young women from a mysterious adversary who wants them dead.

Sony Pictures Entertainment released the official trailer for Madame Web on November 15th, 2023.
It starts with Cassandra Webb, played by Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), entering a diner to meet with a group of young women when, suddenly, a masked villain enters and proceeds to attack Webb, eventually stabbing her in the stomach with a knife. Suddenly, Webb is transported back outside, where she turns towards the diner and says “Let’s try that again.” It appears that, at this point, she is aware of her psychic powers, but a week before, she is seen as a paramedic rescuing a person from a car wreck. As another paramedic, played by Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), pulls the patient from the wreckage, Webb is trapped in the car which slides off a bridge into a river. Seeing visions of a baby being born and cobwebs, Scott's character revives her through CPR, but something has changed, she is seeing things before they happen.
As she sits on a subway train, Bury a Friend by Billie Eilish starts fading in and out, and she sees the villain, presumably for the first time without the mask, portrayed by Tahar Rahim, and he begins attacking pedestrians. Flashing back a minute or so, Webb realizes she needs to get everyone off the train before it’s too late. As she escapes, a group of women from the diner appear, and they meet in the woods, where Webb tries to explain that she has clairvoyance and that somehow they are all connected. Scenes of the villain blowing things up around the city are mixed with images of girls in suits akin to Spider-Man. At one point, the masked villain is said to also possess psychic abilities, warning Webb that the other girls might have a dark future.

Wonder Woman is a DC comic that tells the story based on the comic which first originated in 1942, according to Smithsonian Magazine. After her first appearance as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gal Gadot agreed to star in the prequel where she attempts to end World War I, which she believes was started by her nemesis Ares, who, perhaps not coincidentally, was the first villain in the original comic. Gadot stars alongside Chris Pine who plays Steve Trevor, a pilot from America who crash-lands on Wonder Woman’s, or Diana's, homeland and eventually becomes her love interest as they both try to end the war. While reviews of the movie were mixed, some call Wonder Woman a highly underrated film in the DC Extended Universe.

Captain Marvel was the first Marvel movie to introduce Carol Danvers, portrayed by Brie Larson (Room), an alien from planet Hala who serves in the Starforce. With her origins unknown and being plagued with nightmares, when she is captured by enemy Skrulls, they are able to read her mind, which leads them back to planet Earth. When Danvers escapes she is met in Los Angeles by agents from S.H.I.E.L.D., which is a special anti-terrorism force in the Marvel Universe, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). As they try to prevent an invasion from Skrulls on Earth, they also discover that Danvers is originally from there as well. As she reconnects with her past, she realizes more and more about her role in Starforce and must decide if she will help save Earth. The movie was one of the highest-grossing female-led movies of all time and received decent critical acclaim for having an original storyline coming from such a major franchise.

In 2021, Marvel released Black Widow, a movie about the assassin Natasha Romanoff who first appeared in Iron Man 2, played by Scarlett Johansson (Jojo Rabbit). The film starts with undercover agents posing as a family with Romanoff and Yelena Belova posing as their children. When the fake parents steal info from S.H.I.E.L.D. they flee and the kids are taken to train as assassins. As they grow up, Romanoff eventually abandons the Widow training program and joins S.H.I.E.L.D. Then, years later, when Belova and Romanoff reconnect, they try to devise a plan to end the Widow training program for good, hoping to escape and go into hiding. The movie was well-received but mostly for the action, as the story gets a little complicated to follow, while the suspense and fighting never stop.
