Fitness center in DuBois offers free membership for youth

The WPAL Fitness Center in DuBois is launching their after-school fit club for youth aged 6-18.

The Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League has nine boxing and fitness centers in Western Pennsylvania.

One of those include the WPAL Fitness Center in the heart of DuBois.

With their motto being "always for the kids," all of the WPAL fitness centers are free for kids aged 6-18. WPAL memberships are also free for first responders and military personnel.

Aaron Beatty, Executive Director of this location, says 1,200 youth members are a part of this center.

He tells 6News the fitness center in DuBois is the only WPAL center to have an after-school fit program for kids.

This new after-school fit program is geared for kids aged 6-18.

Beatty says it will launch after the start of the new year on every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2-6pm.

He says it’s important to instill health and nutrition at an early age.

For more information on how to register for this free after school fit program, you can call or text Kristy at 814-541-0129 or message the WPAL DuBois Fitness Center Facebook Page.
