As of Saturday afternoon, six businesses in addition to the pet food store were either closed or had limited service.
All of them are located in Mahopac Village Center, which is a shopping center by Route 6 and is located near the Somers border.
Dan Fraser, whose Fraser's Hardware Store has been in the same location for 25 years, discussed the impact to his business.
“We had a tremendous amount of water damage,” he said, adding that they were still without power.
Most of the water had been cleaned up, according to Fraser, with the next steps involving a check of items in the store to see what is good and what is bad.
The store was technically closed, Fraser said, but limited service was provided to people who came. Fraser hopes to resume normal service at the store by Monday.
Several affected stores had signage acknowledging closures and with addresses to sister locations. Performax Fitness and Rite Aid, for example, listed their other locations in Carmel, while Iconic Hair had signage posted that listed its other salon in Yorktown.
