ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — An employee who works at the Outback Steakhouse location in Altoona has the coronavirus, according to restaurant officials.
A company spokesperson confirmed the employee’s positive COVID-19 test result to 6 News via email.
“Once the management team learned of the positive result, they brought in a professional cleaning company to thoroughly sanitized the restaurant,” the spokesperson wrote. “They also quarantined anyone who worked in close proximity with the employee.”
Citing privacy concerns, the spokesperson would not confirm the exact date of the positive test result but said both the result and the restaurant’s cleaning occurred within the past week.
The spokesperson added that the company takes the safety of their employees and customers seriously and completes symptom surveys on every employee before they start each shift.
The infected employee will not return to work until cleared by a doctor, the spokesperson said.
